While attending Grand Canyon University, Ryan served as drumline section leader and as a Thundering Heard Pep Band Student Conductor. Ryan was also chosen to represent his school and play drum set on tour with the GCU basketball team; visiting places such as Las Vegas, Orlando, San Diego, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Indianapolis for March Madness.
